Written for Ensemble Échappé
small fry is a short interlude for Max/MSP performer and generative MIDI sounds. The piece uses extreme layered delays to create MIDI drones that mimic the jagged instability of vocal fry noise. Over the course of the piece, various other generative effects are explored to create unique clamoring and bell-like textures.
